Swim Ontario would like to extend our deepest congratulations to Rick Hannah, as he has been honoured with the Ontario Medal of Good Citizenship for 2012. The Ontario Medal for Good Citizenship recognizes individuals who, through exceptional long-term efforts, have made outstanding contributions to their communities.
Rick has been involved with Swim Ontario for over 26 years and dedicates himself to helping to ensure that Ontario continues to lead Canadian swimming at every level in his work as a member of the Swim Ontario Board of Directors since 1995 (President since 2008), President of the Ontario Aquatic Hall of Fame since 2004, officiating meets from the development level to International competition, as well as volunteering for high school swimming and involvement in the Special Olympics.
"Rick's devotion and dedication to swimming in Ontario has been instrumental to the growth and development to the organization", said John Vadeika, Executive Director of Swim Ontario, "He strives to make swimming in this province the best that it can be by his contributions to the sport."
Congratulations to Rick on their prestigious honour, and we look forward to working with him for at least another 26 years.
